1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of the Chalcack (“we”, “our”) AI-powered learning assistance application (“Service”). They define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between users and us.

2. Service Overview

Chalcack uses AI to provide educational content—such as solutions, explanations, and vocabulary insights—based on problem images you capture or upload. The Service is a study aid and is not guaranteed to be suitable for formal schooling or official exam preparation.

3. Camera & Photos Permission

We request access to your device’s camera and photos so you can take or select images. These permissions are used only to recognize problems and generate explanations. Images are not stored or shared with third parties without your consent. You can change or revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.

4. User Content Processing & AI

Images and text you submit are processed by AI models to generate results. We may process such content temporarily and, where necessary for quality improvement, retain it internally after de-identification and anonymization. AI output may contain errors; you are responsible for final interpretation and decisions.

5. Privacy

Personally identifiable information we collect (e.g., email, device info) is used only to provide the Service and is stored/processed securely per applicable laws. Content from camera/photos is disposed of after automated analysis and is not retained unnecessarily. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Intellectual Property

All software, designs, images, text, algorithms, and other content in the Service are owned by us or third-party rights holders. You may not copy, modify, distribute, resell, or create derivative works without prior written consent.

7. Limitation of Liability

We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose of AI-generated content. You bear responsibility for outcomes arising from its use. We are not liable for unavailability or errors due to system failures, data loss, or network issues.

8. Paid Services & Billing

Core features may be free; some premium features may be paid. Purchases are processed via Apple in-app purchases. Refunds may be limited. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel. App Store billing/refund policies apply.

9. Changes & Suspension

We may change or temporarily suspend parts or all of the Service for quality or operational needs. We will notify users in advance where feasible; urgent cases may proceed without prior notice.

10. Restrictions & Termination

If you violate the Terms, disrupt operations, or use the Service illegally, we may restrict access, suspend your account, or terminate it permanently.

11. Third-Party Services

To deliver AI analysis we may use external APIs or cloud providers (e.g., OpenAI, Microsoft Azure). Details appear in the Privacy Policy. You may use the Service only if you consent to such use.

12. Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes shall be brought in the Seoul Central District Court as the court of first instance.

13. Amendments

We may amend these Terms and will notify users at least 7 days in advance in-app or on our website. For material changes we will notify at least 30 days in advance. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Service.
